This is a real neat vintage locket –probably dating from the 1970’s or 1980’s. When closed it takes on the shape of a sphere, being held by two long etched ‘ears’- one on each side. My photos show the progression of how this cute gizmo works. Firstly you pull the little ear out from the bottom of the orb.
It then opens to reveal spaces for up to six photos. You can use a little Elmer’s glue to attach the photos, Then keep the locket in the open position until the photos dry before you close it up.
Most similar lockets that I have come across have a much lesser gram weight – sometimes around 14 grams. This one weighs a lot more- almost double the weight - 23.2 grams and measures 1-1/4” long including the bale and 1” in width. Incised mark 925 and CM on bale. Condition is very good.
