Set is comprised of Scallop or Clam shells linked to each other forming a chain of shells displaying their treasure. In this case it is not a pearl, but a bright prong set clear rhinestone in the center of every shell. Each shell is laid upon another larger shell. Inner shell s done in a soft lustrous matte finish, while the outer shell contrasts the color and texture being shiny metal. You can see in the photos how the shells seem to come up and go down when worn on the wrist. This set is well made- each shell has been riveted from the back, firmly holding the uppermost shell and rhinestone very securely in place.
Earrings have not only a center rhinestone, but there is also a stone suspended from the center stone.
Bracelet has a spring clasp. Earrings are screw backs. Condition is very good. Metal appears to be stainless steel. Bracelet measures about 8”, however due to its construction, it will fit an average wrist - not an 8” wrist. My wrist is 6-1/2” and it fits beautifully- not tight at all, having a bit of extra room for a nicely draped effect. Shells are 3/4” wide.
Earring screw backs are signed B.N.for Bugbee and Niles who were in business from the late 1800’s until 1943.
