This vintage little fella is just as cute as a button. He is one happy mouse. He is not flat but a bit rounded or domed and has nice puffy dimensionality. His mirror like finish is smooth and shiny. Crafted in Sterling Silver with a detailed brass coiled tail attached. Unusual piece having the tail of brass attached.
His back is finished in bright silver as well and is marked TF-40. Measures 2"Lx 1-1/2"W x 1/2"H when laid flat. He has a good weight of 5.45 grams and is quite sturdy.
Mexico silversmiths used a letter and number system to register silversmiths in 1980. The first letter designates the city where it was made and the second letter represents the first letter of the silversmith's last name. This pin is marked T for Taxco. TF might possibly be a piece made by Fernandez.
The number following is 40. This means that he was the 40th silversmith with F being the first initial of his last name to register at the Taxco assay office.
