This fully dimensional brooch is beyond beautiful. It consists of a flower having a gentle very natural (close to what Mother Nature produced) form. Flower petals fold one upon the other. The turned over petals are delicately etched with a brushed matte finish with some shimmering gold highlights gently exploding with every turn. It looks as pretty as the day it was made.
Measures 3-1/2” x 1-7/8”. Back is signed ©Francois in script.
Coro produced jewelry under several names. Most were moderately priced. The finer high end lines were Francois and Vendome. Francois was known for high quality and beautifully designed and executed faceted rhinestone jewelry. Coro later marketed jewelry under the name Francois, a fictitious designer, in 1938. Francois jewelry was sold only in the finer stores such as Bloomingdales.
I have another gloriously gorgeous Francois brooch that is almost the twin of this one, except that it is loaded with accent pave set rhinestones and is slightly smaller in size.
