Sterling Silver Abalone Four Leaf Clover Brooch Mexico Brooch is sterling silver and made in Mexico. It features four iridescent leaves having many variations of color. Every twist and turn and change in lighting brings out colors that just keep popping. The surface is polished to a smooth shine, yet it looks like indentations with pockets of changing colors. Colors range from purple, green, blue, pink, being both soft and vivid. The piece of shell that compose the stem is just such an outstanding choice. It reminds me of a palm tree, with ridges of varying colors placed horizontally within.
Mother of pearl shells are fitted within a sterling silver border. I challenge anyone to find a lovelier clover anywhere. This one is tops! In some of the photos, the topmost leaf, appears at times that there is a black spot or hole. Not so, it is filled with bright purple pink and green within.
Back is marked 925 and has the eagle or bell mark with the number one. Part of MEXICO is incised also. This dates from around 1950 to 1979. Condition is excellent. Pin shaft has a slight bend. Clasp works great. Great gift for presenting someone with the luck if the Irish. You don’t have to be Irish to love this piece. Last photo shows the brooch with a very lovely silver tone bracelet having the same colors, but done with oval cabochon domed shells in a swirled pattern with the center of the swirl in the center of each panel.
Measures 1-7/8” L x 1-1/3” W.
