This great multi-level brooch dates from the early 1960's. It was manufactured by Cathe' Jewels in Torrence, California. They were noted for their use of unusual art glass stones, faux pearls and aurora borealis stones. Research indicates that they were sold at home jewelry parties in the 1960's.
Center of brooch features three large creamy faux pearls accented by sparkling rhinestones. These stones are not clear but have a lovely jonquil (light yellow) color. No dead or darkened stones – these have great sparkle and radiance.
Soft cocoorange/yellowa rust colored navette glass stones branch outwards. All stones are prong set and have riveted backs. Brooch is not flat but three dimensional. Even the jonquil stones are set so that they too are set into tiers.
Measures 3-1/4" x 1-1/2". Back is signed Cathe'. Excellent condition.
