Alluring pin is an exceptional example of an abalone blister pin dating from the 1930’s. Nestled, just a bit off center is a large oval free form blister pearl with colors of the peacock.
The paua shell comes from the coast of New Zealand. It is recognized by the vibrant iridescent colors of blue, green and pink.
Brooch is slightly domed, which is the natural form of the shell. Colors are mesmerizing. This is one of the very prettiest and very well constructed pins of this type that I have seen. It is of very good quality. Back features the pin assembly which has been very neatly and expertly applied to the back of the shell. Measures 2-1/8” x 7/8”.
