Glorious Butterfly in Flight with gold-plated metal wings is encrusted from head to toe with vibrant, prong set accenting and contrasting rhinestones.
It is an open work designed brooch, showing an assortment of oval, wide navette marquis and teardrop rhinestones in colors of lemon citrine fiery orange and topaz. Wings are surrounded and framed by smaller jonquil soft sparkly yellowish chaton stones forming a chain of rhinestones around the entire body of the butterfly. Wonderful exquisite detailing down to and including the very tiny tiny rhinestones in graduated sizes at the tips of the bottom section of her wings. They are so small they are just about infinitesimal. Whoever set these stones had to have been a skilled master artisan with extremely steady hand and terrific eyesight.
Center body features large oval and navette stones topped off by a smaller round chaton stone for the head and antennae.
All stones are faceted, prong set and in incredible condition. If you like shimmery, glimmery jewelry fashioned in styling by Mother Nature herself, this may be the brooch for you.
This is a designer piece and is signed on the back. It has what appear to be initials within a crown, but, I am unfamiliar with the signature. If you know the signature, I would be tickled pink if you would tell me.
Her wingspan measures 2-7/8” across by 2-1/4” long.
