Antique bracelet is of Bohemian in styling as well as glass content. It is comprised of curved slightly domed gilt brass panels that combine delicate filigree with heavy ornamentation. Center stones have heavy applied rope borders.
All carnelian stones are prong set and open backed. They are very smooth in appearance and the deep color is consistent within each stone.
Green stones have a slight neon-yellow coloring. There is a variation in color and design within the glass of the green cabochons resembling a cross between cat’s eye and moonstone glass. At first I thought it was Vaseline glass, but it did not test as such under black light. But what fabulous color!
One side of bracelet has two chased , very textured, link chains that attach by means of a hidden box tab that locks beneath one of the side panels. Clasp is in excellent working condition.
Center panel measures 1-3/4” across x 1-1/4” in length. Flanking side panels are 1-1/4” x 7/8” each.
Bracelet measures 6-7/8” wearable length. This does not include the 1/2”” tongue that fits into the clasp.
Excellent antique condition showing very minimal signs for wear for its age. Much of the gilding remains. Stones have no chips or cracks – they are in excellent condition – all are smooth. One can see that his was lovingly looked after by a previous owner.
