Victorian Porcelain Lady Portrait Brooch C 1890 -1910Victorian Porcelain Lady Portrait Brooch C 1890 -1910Victorian Porcelain Lady Portrait Brooch C 1890 -1910

Antique portrait transfer ware brooch on porcelain is of a young lady with a blue ribbon in her hair.

If you look closely you can see some pale blue between her hair and shoulders on either side. Not dark, just a soft blue subtly fading into the white background.

This dates from the Victorian to Art Nouveau period

She is prong set onto a solid brass backing and held very securely in place.

For being over 100 years of age, this pin is in terrific condition. Very few slight scratch marks can be found in her hair. They are so small, that when wearing the brooch, they are virtually un-noticeable.

A hint of the original gold gilding framing her still remains.

Brooch is pretty large and measures 2-3/8" x 1-7/8. Has "C" clasp in good working order.

The second photo shows the brooch pinned to my red jacket.

A very pretty piece.
