This unique and utterly fabulous vintage Art Glass brooch is MASSIVE in size.
I have never come across one like this before.
Five hand blown orbs, ranging in size from 3/4" to 7/8" in diameter – (that's almost a full inch) - shaded in mottled blues and greens hang individually suspended from loops on the backs of the leaves. These balls are articulated and can move around a bit.
The two golden leaves at the very bottom are suspended from a loop on the back of the brooch and have a loop at the front from which a glass sphere dangles.
Inspired by Mother Nature, the design is phenomenal and truly unique.
I can't say enough about this brooch. I do believe, however, that everyone will notice and compliment you when wearing it.
Would look great on a suit jacket or coat. Would also look terrific framed and hung on a wall.
This may be a Miriam Haskell piece. If not, it is definitely some other high end designer piece. Not average in any way. It is exquisitely beautiful.
The colors and blending on the speckled balls did not photograph as well as I would have liked. My photos don't do it justice at all.
The gold tone metal leaves are textured and finely etched. To give you perspective, the largest leaf is 1-1/2" in length.
Measures a whopping 3-3/4" in length x 2-5/8" across. Weighs 42.1grams (1.485 oz)
Metal is not flimsy, but of good weight so that it can support the weight of the globes.
