Dazzling vintage rhinestone brooch is remarkable not only in brilliance and color, but in construction as well.
Sparkling bright prong set peridot chaton rhinestones in rows of two frame the darker emerald green stones in the center of the brooch. Each peridot stone, although round, sometimes appears to be square in the gold tone setting. If you view the photos you can see what I mean.
Center emerald green stones have many interesting aspects. They are not only set in layers, but at such extreme angles, so that the brooch seems to change its form when viewed from different angles.
They have beautiful tapered sharp points.
The largest stone is the beautiful multi prong set teardrop or pear cut center open back stone. This is surrounded by smaller teardrop stones. Four of these stones rise from beneath the large stone. The other four stones start fill space and join up with the peridot stones.
These four stones, at such angles seem to rise up in a diagonally vertical manner from the bottom of the brooch until one ends at the highest point or apex of the brooch.
Brooch is almost like a slightly reversed question mark having the large round rhinestone at the bottom.
