During the early 1920's Joseph Mazer and his brother Louis started producing very fine costume jewelry in New York under Mazer Brothers. In 1946, Joseph formed his own company, Joseph J Mazer Company. His jewelry bears the marks Joseph Mazer or Jomaz.
This rhodium plated sparkling rhinestone brooch features a leaf form going from beneath and through the crescent wreath section. The center vein is set with baguette stones in graduated sizes, ending with a navette rhinestone at the tip.
Sparkling navette rhinestones flank both sides of the baguette vein. These are also in graduated sizes. The convex or slightly domed wreath is set with pave set chaton rhinestones.
Spectacular very high quality Swarovski rhinestones and superior craftsmanship combine so that this brooch, like many other Jomaz pieces, can often be mistaken for genuine jewelry.
Back of brooch is signed JOMAZ © on its stem. This dates from the 1950's to early 60's. Signature is double stamped and mostly legible. Brooch measures just over 2-1/8" x 1".
Rhinestones are radiant and give lots of sparkle. No dead or darkening stones. This is one gorgeous quality piece of jewelry.
