Exemplary example of style, design, quality and brilliance.
This is an outstanding piece produced by Weiss probably dating from the 1950's or 60's.
During this time Weiss' clear rhinestone pieces were comparable in looks to Eisenberg pieces. Both used high quality brilliant rhinestones. This accounts for why much of their rhinestone jewelry looks as good today as when it was made so many years ago. This stunning tiered brooch is such an example.
Several different cuts and sizes of rhinestone have been incorporated into this fine brooch. Wide navettes, chatons in four sizes, emerald cuts in two sizes – this brooch has it all.
Bottom layer's chaton center stone is 5/8".The round chaton stone directly above it is 1/2". Slightly smaller chatons are 3/8". Smaller accents are 1/8"diameter.
Navettes are 5/8". Emerald cut stones are 3/8". As S you can see, the stones used in this brooch are not your average size stones. They are immense, brilliant, sparkling and clear. Each stone is prong set.
This is a heavy stacked brooch, It is mammoth in size, not so much width and height, but in the size of the stones and the height or rise of the brooch. This weighs 30.7 grams.
This is a positively stunning brooch. All stones are in fabulous condition. The back is in excellent condition as well. Signed Weiss inside an oval cartouche. Measures 2"L x 2-1/4" W and has a lovely high rise of 3/4".
Condition is absolutely excellent.
