Bezel rests upon an oval plateau which meets the lovely edge of the frame. Frame has the very loveliest etched design, including very fine gadrooning, closest to the cameo- and a fabulous etched wavy edge, Floral, perhaps a carved rose, design at top, bottom and sides.
Goddess motif portrait wearing a toga – flowing hair. The exquisite detail and carving technique of the sculptor captures the very essence of her beauty. Her windblown hair cascading from the back gently over the left shoulder – the crease of her eye - all done to perfection. There is a distinct ridge where the carver began forming the facial lines that looks like a stress crack in some of the photos. It is not a crack, but a distinct carved ridge that helps define the face.
Several elements set this cameo apart from many others – cameo faces left – her lips are opened, as if she is speaking or about to smile.
