These are THE cutest and most unusual shakers that I have come across in a long time. Of course that is just my opinion, but I do mean it.
One look at these and you are hooked on them. Little Boy is trying to get a kiss from the fair young Dutch miss. (I am assuming that she is Dutch because of the hat or cap that she has on her head.). I guess he is always trying to kiss her because she actually has “Don’t Kiss Me I Am Busy’ printed on her apron.
They look great in several positions. The boy is in perfect condition. There is a tiny area near his shoulder where there is a glaze pop with white showing thru This occurred at the time he was made. He is well glazed.
The girl has a bit of wear, probably from him chasing her. She appears to have been cold painted. (painted after firing). She is in great condition and I can only find one wee slightly rough spot at the very bottom of her skirt.
Looking from the back there is a tan mark between the girls shoulder and her hat. This is how her hair was painted those many years ago.
Both come with cork stoppers.
Boy is 4.25” tall. Girl is 3.5” tall
