This antique miniature perfume bottle is hand painted with cameos and floral swags in brown, gold, blue and green on a white background. The top is sterling silver and fully hallmarked for Birmingham England with the maker's mark D&LS for David and Lionel Spiers. The date letter is difficult to decipher but the firm operated in Birmingham during the last quarter of the nineteenth century and the scent bottle dates from that period. The underside of the bottle has the handwritten numbers 1139 0. The spherical bottle is small, just 2 inches high including the screw cap, and 1.625 inches across. The inside of the cap and the neck of the bottle are cork lined. The Victorian bottle is beautiful and in excellent condition.
