This fabulous English majolica plate was made by Wedgwood in the aesthetic style and is wonderfully decorative with three different birds, flowering branches, butterflies and three gray-green and yellow fans in high relief on a cream colored background. The underside has the impressed diamond registry mark and while the date codes are illegible, the mark indicates the pattern was registered sometime between 1842 and 1883. In addition to the diamond mark, the plate has 'Wedgwood' and several letters impressed and what looks like M 2789 in handwriting. The beautiful cabinet plate has a 9 inch diameter and is in exceptionally good condition.
