This antique case is made of 800 silver and has a jump rings at the top allowing it to be worn as a pendant or on a chatelaine. The round case is 3.25 inches long and could have been used for sewing needles or lead for mechanical pencils. It is beautifully embossed with flower blossoms and swirls in high relief. The case is marked 800, the Continental silver standard, with a maker’s mark that looks like AD. . The needle holder is solid and weighs 12.3 grams. It is in excellent condition with an attractive patina and dates from c. 1900.
