This antique seed pearl 9K gold brooch or pendant dates from the Edwardian era and has full English hallmarks for Henry Griffith & Sons, Chester, 1912. The brooch is very sweet and reminiscent of the earlier Victorian period with the crescent moon, swallow, and branch motifs and the c-clasp. The finely crafted brooch is made of 9 karat yellow gold studded with small seed pearls and is relatively large for this style of pin, measuring approximately one and three quarter inches from end to end and five sixteenth of an inch from the bird's wing tip to wing tip. It weighs 1.9 grams and has a small bale on the upper wing allowing it to be worn as either a brooch or a pendant. This delicate, sentimental piece is in excellent condition with the original seed pearls intact.
