This fabulous antique hatpin with a colorful maple leaf dates from the Edwardian period. The head of the pin is in the shape of a shield with an autumn colored maple leaf in yellow, green, and orange enamels on a white background. The back is marked Sterling with an unknown maker's mark. The head is sterling with a gold wash however the pin itself is not silver. The top measures approximately one and an eighth inches by just over three quarters of an inch and the pin is a tad over ten inches in total length. It is in good condition and would be a nice addition to an antique hat pin collection.
