This antique measuring tape is cased in a beautifully carved and pierced barrel shaped tagua nut with bone winder and is a full thirty six inches long. The Victorian seamstress' tape measure manually winds with a bone handle that has an opening to allow it to be worn on a chatelaine. The piece measures approximately one and a half inches high and one inch across at the widest. It does not appear to have been used much and both the tape and the holder are in excellent condition. There is a crack on the underside that likely dates to the original making of the holder that is not visible when the tape is upright and does not detract.
