The satin liner on this antique ring box is marked Henry Birks & Sons Limited Goldsmiths Silversmiths and likely dates from the Edwardian period. The box is rectangular in shape with diagonal corners. It is beautifully engraved in script with the initials MW on the top and impressed Birks Sterling on the underside. It has a single slot, black velvet ring holder. The box measures one and five eighths inches from north to south, one and seven sixteenths inches across, and one and one eighth inches high. It is in excellent condition for its age with only very minor, light surface marks, some wear to the satin and velvet interior linings, and two pin sized dings on the bottom. These expected signs of age are only noticeable on close inspection and do not detract from this attractive early ring case.
