This is an Old Pink Silk Sewing Needle Pin Holder Hand Stitched Possibly Shaker. The United Society of Believers were a primarily 19th century religious society that became known as "the Shakers" because of the trembling and shaking of the members during prayer. Among other things, they produced many many sewing items to be sold to the outside world. This little gem may have been part of Shaker sewing box. It is all handstitched with a firm top and bottom and pink ribbon sides where the pins would be stored. It is small and measures 1 inch in diameter and 1/2 inch thick.
