This is a Vintage C1941 Coro Enameled Cockatiel Bird Duette Dress Fur Clips. It is signed Coro Duette/Pat. No. 1798867 to the back of the frame. In 1941 the design was patented by Gene Verrecchio, Coro master designer. The Duette was named Calopsitta which is Portuguese for Cockatiel. The enameling is in very good condition, and it appears that two of the rhinestones on each bird’s head have been replaced with pink aurora borealis rhinestones. Each clip is enamel over pot metal and fits snugly into the frame. Each bird measures 3-1/4 inches long and about 1 inch wide. When held together the Duette measures 3-1/2 inches long and 2 inches wide. The frame pin stem clasp is nice and tight.
