This is a wonderful C1850s Greiner Style 15 Inch Papier Mache Milliners Model Wood Doll in Fabulous Original Dress. She has painted and carved wooden arms and legs with a papier mache head. There is a seam split to the top of her left shoulder and some roughness to the top of her right shoulder. She has that double chin, rosy cheeks, and brushwork vertical sausage curls around her head. The arms and hands are long and graceful. Her original all hand stitched pink and red striped thin weight cotton dress outfit is wonderful. The dress has the wasp waist with cartridge pleating, large off the shoulder neckline and growth pleat to the skirt. There is some here and there age staining to the fabric as would be expected. Underneath she has her handstitched lace petticoat and hand embroidered eyelet lace pantaloons. The body is stuffed white kid leather which includes the upper arms and upper legs. The long lower legs and lower arms are carved and painted wood. The long feet are applied with a seam at the ankle. The hands are carved with a separate thumb. The shoulder head is papier mache with a slight seam split at the left shoulder. The original clothing is stitched to her so one is not able to undress the doll.
