This is an Antique German China Head Doll Cabinet Size 11 Inch Elaborate Dress Hat Museum Deaccession. This doll is a museum deaccession from the Boxford, Massachusetts (Essex County) Historical Document Center Museum. She has a little museum tag to her skirt #117. She has been in the museum for a long time. This small 11 inch china head has unglazed china arms and legs with a china shoulder head and glazed brown boots. She has a cloth body as seen up her leg. Her china shoulder head is a lowbrow with a central part. She comes in her original hand stitched clothing which is sewn to her and cannot be removed including her bonnet. Someone dressed her quite elaborately and skillfully. She has a coral silk brocade long gown trimmed with black lace and black velvet ribbon, black lace shawl, white eyelet lace petticoat, and white embroidered pantaloons. She even has black lace mitts on her arms. The most wonderful thing is her pleated silk bonnet trimmed with pink, blue and yellow ribbon loops. The back is black horsehair. The pleated (pale blue) ruffles around the front brim has some silk shattering. Her most engaging feature is her elaborate and detailed bonnet.
