This is a 1939 Coro Quivering Camellia Rhinestone Floral Trembler Fur Dress Clip by Adolph Katz Pat No 117802. The patent number 117802 is marked very lightly on the back of the stem. This dress fur clip originally would have been one of a pair on a frame and sold as a Coro duette. The frame would have been signed Coro with the patent number on the clip. This is one of the most well known of the spring mounted tremblers. The flower center is mounted on a tiny spring which is underneath the flower. The flower “quivers” very nicely when the clip is moved. The pave red rhinestones are table cut with the table cut red rhinestones continuing in the trembler center of the flower. The gold tone is nice and shiny and in excellent condition (a very tiny flick at the back base of the stem). The piece measures 2-1/4 inches long and about 1-3/4 inches wide. The clip itself is tight. For reference, please see Costume Jewelry 202 by Julia C. Carroll page 31.
