This is a 15 inch unusual old black cloth doll of a boy with printed overalls, red shirt and embroidered face. He has a cotton or rag stuffed black cloth body (the color is black underneath his shirt and pants), black yarn hair, hands with an applied thumb (the left thumb is missing), jointed shoulders and stitched hips (so he does sit), and densely packed torso. He does seem to display best when standing (IMO). The clothing is stitched to him so it cannot be removed. He is wearing floral print feed sack cotton overalls from the 1920s-30s and a red shirt. He has an appealing stitched embroidered face with BLUE eyes. Part of the stitching for the eyebrows has worn away. He also has very long upper and lower eyelashes, red nose dots and TEETH. There is a blue-ish area for a nose. It looks like something was placed there underneath the fabric during the making process to give the nose some kind of protrusion or “bump”, but the fabric has partly worn away in that spot now, so the blue-ish something is partly visible.
