This is a Victorian 1800s Antique Sewing Pincushion that is Hand Stitched and made of Striped Wool Challis. The wool challis is extremely and finely woven. The pincushion is all beautifully hand-stitched with a fine braid going around the edges and then tying. There is some wear to the wool challis in a few places. As an added bonus there are two very, very early pins stuck into the pincushion. I have left them there. It measures 4 inches across to the longest side and 2-3/4 inches on the other two sides. I can see that it is stuffed with rag and not cotton but does have a liner fabric. The fabric appears to be naturally dyed and would date pre-1850.
