This is a C1958 9" hard plastic Cissette Doll by Madame Alexander wearing #820 Navy Taffeta Dress and hat. In Cissette The Complete Guide to the Vintage Alexander Dolls by Marjorie E. Merrod MD, she describes the Cissette ensemble as the following "This outfit is a miniature version of one worn by Madame Alexander herself. The navy straw hat is circled with navy tulle and trimmed with a pink rose. The fitted navy taffeta dress has a bodice lined in navy organdy and navy lace at the armholes. The lace turns black with time. The pale pink pleated organdy shawl has a pink rose as trim. Beneath the dress, Cissette wears pink taffeta panties and half slip trimmed with val lace. She has silver and navy sandals and pink pearls." This Cissette example is missing the pink pearls and has no earrings. She is also wearing seamed hose. The The pink organdy shawl has a touch of age yellow to it, and her heels are pink with navy elastics (the elastics had stretched so are now tied in the back which keeps them on her feet). Her arms will hold a pose if the arms are posed high enough. She has a triple stitched wig and her head will move a little if you shake her hard (I can see that she has been restrung there). Her head is fine when you pose her and push her head firmly on the neck knob. Her head is not bobbly or wiggly though. The tagged navy taffeta dress is still nice and crisp but has a small hole to the center front hem area along with several tiny pin point size holes (it looks to me like Cissette may have had a pinned tag or label there that may have generated the small holes). Generally, the holes are hard to see because of the dark fabric and they are in the folds of the skirt fabric. There is a tan age spot on her pink half slip. Her hat is beautiful and perfect. And she has some beautiful coloring to her cheeks!
