Mid Century Modernist Norway Designs: According to Fred Rezazadeh in his Collectible Silver Jewelry Book page 123 "Some of the jewelry by major Norwegian designers was first created for Norway Design Center at Plus in Fredrikstad. Norway Design was a large shop in Oslo with a branch also in Trondheim. The company was established by Per Tannum C1958. The aim of this center was to preserve and utilize traditional Norwegian arts and crafts. In the field of jewelry, new concepts with simple modern designs were introduced at Plus executed in gold, silver and pewter. The common mark for Plus is superimposed letters "ND" which appear as a thick letter "N" on the jewelry along with the + sign. This mark is then accompanied by the designer's name or initials."

I have been fortunate enough to acquire part of an old store stock inventory from a Norwegian woman who lived in the United States and sold Norway Plus jewelry here in the 1960's or so. She now has moved back to Norway permanently and sold her inventory stock here before she moved. What the photographs do not depict is how shiny and bright the silver is with no tarnish. The jewelry was never worn or owned by anyone and again was her store stock inventory. The pieces are in mint condition. The silver jewelry items also come with the original leather pouch or box with the Norway Plus Design logo. The letters in the title and description are my own inventory number. Erling Christoffersen was the leader of the PLUS silver workshop, named Norway Silver Designs, from the start in 1958. He, his wife Anna Greta Eker, and Tone Vigeland were the leading designers of jewelry from the PLUS workshop through the 1960s and until the jewelry production was closed down in mid 1970s.

This wonderful modernist carinated bangle bracelet by Erling Christoffersen is from the Plus Design Center in Norway. It is signed ND Norway/ Sterling 925S/ EC +. The size is about 1/8" wide and 7" interior circumference, and weighs 14 grams. It comes in the original presentation suede leather bag with the Norway Plus logo. Pristine. Any coloration in the photos is a reflection of the environment. It also comes with the original ND suede leather bag with the Norway Plus Design logo branded onto it.
