This picture is a Mola made by the San Blas women to serve as a blouse. This was bought in the 50's and was framed. The Kuna are located in 52 Islands along the Caribbean coast of Panama. The size of the frame is 18 1/2X 15 1/2. The fabric is 18 X 14 about. The Molas are now regarded as sort-of a folk art. This is an older example of this art, it was bought in the 50's. Beautiful colors and very good stitching This example is very good.
