Very nice box with stones all around the lid and enamel portraits on the lid. One of the enamel is nearly gone but the second portrait is well-preserved. The box is gilded on the inside. It is hallmarked on the bottom with a dragon, a lion passant, a fish and a crowned leopard's head. These are hallmarks for a well-known Hanau silversmith Gerbuder Dingeldein operating at the end of 19th century and beginning of 20th century. The box is made of 80% silver purity. Box is practically in perfect condition, no damages, just some tarnish spots. Length: 3 5/8 inches, width: 2 3/4 inches, height: 1 3/4 inches, weight: 5.4 oz.
