The tray features wonderful reticulated decorations. It is made of very heavy gauge silver. Condition is absolutely perfect, no damages at all.
It is hallmarked on the bottom with lion passant for sterling silver guarantee, crowned leopard's head, letter S for year 1773 and a maker's mark for Thomas Heming who was an important royal goldsmith working in the 18th century. The handles are also hallmarked but they were added later and therefore bear later hallmarks. Length with handles: 18 1/4 inches, width: 10.5 inches, weight: 36.5 oz.
A really superb and rare piece.
