The nips (or large tongs) are highly unusual. They feature a woman's face and the hands holding an apple. The silver itself is very thin. The tongs are hallmarked with a maker's mark and 13 which was used in Germany before 1884 to denote 81.2% silver purity. The nips were probably made sometime in 18th century. Condition is very good. There are some tiny tarnish spots and scratches, otherwise no damages.
