The tray features a pretty family crest of a crowned lion indicating that it used to belong to a royal family. The tray is hallmarked on the bottom with JE for the maker John Emes?, lion passant for sterling silver, crowned leopard's head for London, letter C for year 1798 and king's head as a duty mark. The are some usage scratches and nicks, and there is a well-done repair at the corner as shown in one of the pictures. Otherwise the tray looks very good. Length: 10.0 inches, width: 3 3/4 inches, weight: 4.4 oz.
