A very fine and exquisite pair of late nineteenth century French photograph frames of ovoid form, standing on small ball feet and folding easel back stands.
Made from a white metal (a silver alloy I suspect), they are beautifully inlaid with a plethora of paste stones creating a wonderfully glamorous look with the large bow to the top.
They are beautifully made with separate glass panels to back and front, all bevelled. There is a little catch to the side which locks the back and once opens, allows the hinged back to be open to place and change photographs within.
Dating to the late Victorian era, c.1890, they remain in excellent condition without loss. 6" x 3 3/8" x 3/4" thick.
