A beautiful antique English visiting card case having beautifully shaped sides and highly decorative engraved decoration.
Looking closely amongst the riot of floral and foliate engraving, the English hallmark can be found for the highly collectible Chester assay office and the year 1905, making this a true Edwardian example. The front has a vacant shaped cartouche for personalization by your silversmith if desired.
The button to the top opens the card case to reveal a wonderful original interior in green silk and leather. There are two pockets each side and to the front of both sides there are two postage stamp pockets. To one side is space to hold a small pencil.
Beautiful original condition, measuring 3 1/2" x 2" x 1/4".
