I have had similar Strawberry sets with the fixed shell-shaped dishes, this is a rarer, more sought-after type with the dishes being removable; these are usually made by the famous silversmith, James Dixon and Co. of Sheffield and this one is indeed.
These are very popular to serve cakes and biscuits and the sugar and cream used for tea, also impressive to serve all sorts of deserts. All pieces are original with the frame, sugar and creamer all signed by James Dixon and Sons together with EP for Electro-Plated. The creamer's handle wraps around to the side terminating in a Lily, quite charming.
A really wonderful set in excellent condition, measuring in total 17" in length x 7 1/2" wide x 8" tall to top of carrying handle. A solid, top-notch example dating to the late Victorian era, around 1890.
