A charming little vesta in the form of a miniature book with fine quality engine turned decoration and a vacant cartouche to the the front. The strike is to be found on the underside of the book.
The hinged lid is sprung and in perfect working order. The hallmarks can be found, the Boars Head used on small pieces of French silver after 1838 a a guarantee of being sterling silver. The makers mark is the other, F R either side of a crown, I believe for F. Roy of Paris.
Excellent quality and condition weighing 16 Grams / 0.51 Troy Ounces. 1 3/4" tall x 1" wide.
