A wonderful set of six desert, fruit or cake forks sitting in a presentation box, these would make a wonderful gift.
The forks are made from sterling silver, made by the top notch silversmith, Mappin and Webb and each hallmarked for Sheffield 1913 and 1917. It is not uncommon for flatware to have different date letters, they would be made and stored and then boxed when purchased, not necessarily with the same date letter.
The handles are made from thick solid Mother of Pearl, with it's glossy patina and iridescent qualities, beautifully carved.
Excellent condition with each fork measuring 6 3/4" in length and the box measuring 8" x 7".
