A delightful and beautiful quality jam or preserve jar ready to grace the finest of breakfast tables.
The glass is perfect, with a star-cut underside . The holder and lid are both made from English sterling silver fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1928, the lid having a delightful finial. The underside of the holder is also lucky enough to have an English design registration number (709501) for the year 1924. The makers mark is also present for the well renowned silversmith, Adie Brothers.
This came to me with this spoon, quite beautiful, it is silver plated and probably continental, with a highly decorative pierced or reticulated handle; perfect for this jar.
Excellent condition measuring 3 1/2" in diameter x 4 1/4" tall to top of finial.
