A fabulous combined inkwell / pocket watch stand made from cast English brass and dating to the Victorian era, around 1880.
The Blackamoor figure in the centre sits upon a naturalistic base, holding a book, with his straw hat acting as the hinged lid to the inkwell. Once opened, the removable ink chamber is revealed. The other side sits a Shepherd's crook which acts as a pocket watch stand.
A beautifully executed example in superb condition. 4" x 3" x 5" tall.
