An absolutely exquisite and pretty little jewellery box dating to around 1880. Beautifully gilded, the box has a variety of designs including a basket weave design running around the circumference of the box.
The top of the box is beautifully enamelled with two tones of green enamel inlaid with a gold floral motif and bordered with white enamel. In the centre is a beautifully painted portrait of a lady signed by the artist.
The interior retains it's original emerald green velvet. Complete with a working lock and original key, the box remains in superb condition. 3 1/2" x 3" x 1 1/4" tall. The portrait has a diameter measuring 1 1/8".
