A magnificent grand large Victorian jewellery box dating to 1850 made from exotic Coromandel wood.
Of course, what makes this outstanding is the wonderful decoration with a series of refined engraved and reticulated brass mounts each framing a series of wonderful hand painted porcelain plaques featuring the most adorable Cherubs or Putti figures.
The interior has been professionally re-lined in a smart navy blue velvet and has two removable trays to accommodate a variety of jewellery and wrist watches. The original inlaid retailer's plaque remains; "Trussel, Brighton".
Excellent condition measuring 12" 8 1/2" x 6" tall. Complete with working tasselled key.
