A quite magnificent and most unusual tea caddy or box standing on four regal Lion's paw legs. All the sides and the hinged lid is decorated with repousse classical figural scenes . The front is where the full English hallmark can be found for Birmingham 1900 together with the maker's initials for the top silversmith, Thomas Hayes. The lid opens to reveal the original lavish gilded interior.
A superb quality box in excellent condition weighing 5.33 Troy Ounces / 165.7 Grams. The footprint measuring 2 7/8" square and standing 3 1/2" tall.
