It is tremendously difficult to find a pair of Candelabra in this smaller size, perfect for the smaller dining table or perfect to impress on the top of a desk top.
Each corner or the square base is decorated with a Ram's head, always highly sought-after and hard to come across, they are jointed by a repousse garland. Among this riot of decoration is the original presentation engraving, discreet enough not to be intrusive but lovely to have telling a story to their past. They were clearly given as a silver wedding anniversary gift, the engraving reads To M.B From R.S.S and the base engraved 1868 - July 15 - 1893, clearly presented in 1893, a true Victorian pair.
The tops of the candelabra can be removed to create a wonderful small pair of Corinthian Column candlesticks, so a fabulous duel use.
Excellent condition, the footprint measuring 3 1/2" square, the arms spanning 9 1/2" and standing 9 1/2" tall.
