An imposing silver plated inkwell made by American silversmith, Reed and Barton around 1900. The circular base with repousse or embossed decoration around the sides and topped with a handsome Stag's head, the antlers acting as a pen rest for several dip pens. The underside signed by the silversmith.
The base houses a beautiful cut crystal waisted inkwell topped with a wonderful lid, decorated with engine turning and crowned with an adorable little frog.
Dating to around 1900, it remains in superb condition.
