A wonderful and scarce desk set by one of the most sought-after silversmith's, Hukin and Heath. The desk set sits on four little feet and comprises of a stamp box with hinged lid, a wax seal, a removable taper holder, a match strike, a pen-nib shaped inkwell containing the original "no-spill" glass ink chamber and finally a pen rest formed as if it were a sheet of writing paper.
I have used a silver pen in the photograph to show where the pen rest lies; the pen is not included but is for sale as a separate item (subject to availability).
The stand is lucky enough to have a design registration number which relates to the year 1895; the underside also includes the full mark for Hukin and Heath.
A wonderful treasure and in excellent condition. The base measures 7 1/2" x 4 3/4".
